Wedding
Invitations
A wedding is the most important moment in a person’s life.
Here are a few tips for good skin, hair, and nail care for both
– the to-be brides and grooms. First of all consult a dermatologist
as find out your skin type, which will then decide the routine
you should follow.
GENERAL
CARE
Diet and lifestyle reflect in both - your skin and your hair.
The healthier your diet, the more your skin reflects the same.
It should include milk and milk products, green leafy vegetables,
salads, soups and fresh fruits every day.
Fitness: There is no better time to join the gym than when you
book your big day. If gym is not your scene, then some daily brisk
walking is good to keep you in shape. Do not forget to drink plenty
of water and limit your intake of alcohol to keep your body healthy
and in good shape.
FACE:
A perfect face means a healthy glowing skin. So rather than camouflaging
the dark circles and pimples with make-up, it is better to begin
by improving the condition of your skin naturally.
The skin must be exfoliated regularly with mild scrub. Use a good
face wash (gel face wash for dry to normal skin and foaming face
wash for oily, acne prone skin) at least twice daily. For the
body, use a body wash (moisturising body wash for dry to normal
skin and shower gel for combination skin).
HAIR:
Hair care needs particular attention specially keeping in mind
the various hairstyles you would require to wear in various wedding
functions. The hair should be regularly washed and well conditioned.
Lustrous hair, short or long tresses and well-cut, are any woman’s
delight. Always steam your hair after oiling by wrapping your
head with a towel from which hot water has been squeezed out.
If you have a hair fall problem, take appropriate vitamins and
treatments after consulting your dermatologist. This tip is essential
for the to-be grooms too.
HANDS
AND FEET: Do not ignore your hands and feet. The bride
‘s feet and ankles are often adorned with intricate designs
of henna, so start taking precautionary treatment to heal cracks
and yellow nails right away. Go in for regular pedicures. At home
you can massage your feet with sesame seed oil every night to
keep them soft and protected from developing cracks. If you have
a hectic lifestyle, then, at night before preparing for bed, soak
your feet in half a bucket of warm water for about ten minutes
and then scrub with pumice stone followed by a good moisturizing
cream. Avoid nail polish on both hands and feet for at least four
weeks before the wedding .This will allow your nails to breathe
as well as prevent them from becoming yellow .A regular manicure
is a must, for the hands will be adorned with bracelets and rings.
Apply almond oil onto the hands every night before sleeping.
TREATMENTS
It is a good idea is to go for regular facials /clean-ups a few
months before the wedding to pamper your skin. A facial will make
a huge difference to your skin leaving the face thoroughly cleansed
and fresh. For acne scars/blemishes, microdermabrasion or chemical
peels (fruit peels) followed by clean ups at regular intervals
will also make a major difference.
ADDITIONAL
TIPS FOR THE GROOM
The big day is not all about the bride; the groom is also in the
limelight and would like to look his best too. With the increase
of men’s beauty products, the men are paying more attention
to their image than ever before.
So
the following are tips are for keeping your husband to-be in a
tiptop condition for those wedding photos.
SKIN
CARE
Men have been experimenting with exfoliates and moisturisers for
as long as we can remember, this is better than using nothing
at all but men need men-specific products for their skin. Their
skin is a lot drier and oilier due to higher sebum levels and
high moisture evaporation rates. In other words, our skincare
products just won’t do the job.
The first step is to use oil before shaving which will lubricate
and soften the hair, making way for a more comfortable and closer
shave, applying a few drops afterwards to sooth and calm the skin
and preventing in growing hairs.
Use
an exfoliator once or twice a week to further prevent in growing
hairs and brighten the complexion. There are plenty of brands
to choose from for both oily and sensitive skin. This is always
to be followed by a moisturiser or the skin will quickly dry out.
Find out what skin type he is (dry, oily, sensitive) and buy the
appropriate moisturiser.
HAIR
It is not a good idea to go for a drastic change in the months
leading up to the wedding. However, you should get a hair cut
done one or two weeks before the wedding, letting the hair settle
and avoiding a too tight cut.
HANDS
AND FEET CARE
Hand care just does not sound very masculine or appealing to men,
so it’s likely that his hands are not in the best shape.
Given that his hands will be on display during the wedding, it
is a good idea for him to start a daily hand care ritual to keep
his skin and nails in a good condition for showing off his wedding
band. Using a rich moisture hand lotion every day and not chewing
nails can be the first step. Scrubbing feet daily with some tea
tree oil or mint foot scrub and drying them completely should
help. Also inserting odor control insoles into his shoes to absorb
wetness and odor can also be beneficial.
Remember,
no beauty expert can achieve any of the above for you overnight.
So the following are tips for keeping your husband to-be in the
best condition for those wedding photos.
To
weave that magic spell over your groom, you must put together
all ingredients for your beauty treatment well in advance and
follow the procedures diligently. So pamper your body, and watch
yourself glow with beauty, good health and happiness when the
big day dawns. The admiration in your groom’s eyes will
be reward enough!
