It's best to shoot about three group shots after the ceremony. This should be of the couple with the bridal party.
To make the other group shots less formal, change the position of the couple so as to make the snaps look less contrived! It's painful as it is to plaster a smile for 15 minutes.
For larger groups, get the photographer to stand on something higher like steps.
Looking up into the camera with your head tilted to one side emphasises your eyes and smoothes out a double chin.
If you have official photographers on the scene, coordinate with them well in advance and tell them what angles you would prefer them to take.
Putting on makeup is a must. It should look as natural as possible, just highlighting features such as the eyes and lips, with a good base or foundation to conceal blemishes.
Don't try a new hairstyle for the big day. Avoid a heavily lacquered look.
Use matt make up. Shiny make up will reflect in photos.
Getting a bit of movement in your pictures will make it livelier and less staid.
It is believed that pictures would definitely look better in black and white; so ask your friends to bring in a roll.
Smile, Please! Given that having a good time is supposed to be the high point of your wedding day, you want to be reminded of the fact when you peer back at your snaps.
Remember you may try to look cool and mysterious (which might just come across as miserable and you don't want that, do you?)
When posing, turn your hips at right angles to the camera.
