Ravi Tandon´s "Khel Khel Mein", Ramesh Talwar’s
"Doosra Aadmi" and Yash Chopra´s "Kabhi Kabhie".
Judging from their natural companionship in these films, it was
no surprise when the cupid struck them and they decided to get
married.
Rishi and Neetu got married at RK house in 1979. The Sangeet and
all other celebrations were also held at the house. But the wedding
ceremony was held at the Golf course in Chembur, Mumbai, because
it was a grand affair where the entire film industry was invited.
The
reception was at RK Studios. All other celebrations went on for
20 days at RK House. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan performed at the wedding.
That's when people got to know of him.
Raj
Kapoor had heard him casually somewhere and kept him in mind and
invited him for Rishi Kapoor’s Sangeet. He sang all night.
The gaana bajaana went on for days.
For
the wedding, Neetu Singh at that time wore a lehenga bought from
Delhi. For the reception, Krishna Raj Kapoor had made a sari in
silver for her daughter-in-law to be. The Moranis had organised
the fireworks, which went on for half an hour. The entire area
from RK house to the golf course was cordoned off.
Neetu fainted at wedding as the lehenga was too heavy and the
place was croweded with people and so did Rishi Kapoor faint before
he could climb the Ghodi (horse).
