If
you are getting married this winter
Winter in India is a festive season for the young couples and
their families as the wedding mahurats are on a rise. Winter is
the best climate to get married, as the temperature in India is
usually humid and hot for the rest of the year. But, it is also
the time to battle the cold winds that hamper your body and skin.
A little care will keep the winter troubles at bay.
The
common problem in winters is of dry skin. Those with an oily skin
have an advantage as they do not have to do much for that perfect
skin in this season.
If
you are getting married in winter you need to pamper your skin
months in advance. The damage that winter can do to your skin
can make you look like a cake with chips on your wedding day.
Not only the make up will look patchy and lines will appear on
the face, but the pale skin will steal the glow from your face.
Diseases
like Psoriasis, Lichen planus and Ichthyoids also get aggravated
in winters hence the bride-to-be should start moisturizing early
winter and start treatment as and when the disease appears.
There
are basic four skin types
- Dry
- Oily
- Combination where the forehead and the central part of the
face is oily and the rest normal.
- Normal (skin which does not feel dry or greasy at any time).
If
you are getting married this winter, here are some useful tips
to make your skin look good.
- For dry skin, applying a moisturiser is essential, which is
best, if applied after bath.If your skin is very dry, thick
moisturisers like Venusia or Skindew or Efaderm may be used.
Moisturiser should be applied as and when skin feels dry.
- For oily skin, a water based moisturiser like Emolene is
good.
- For combination skin, apply moisturiser only to dry areas.
- Mild soaps like Oilatum, Dernadew, Aquasoft can be used and
for very dry skin. A cleanser like Cetaphil is also recommended.
- During winter the rest of the body such as legs and hands
also tend to feel dry, leaving scaly skin surface. For this
you can use body lotions like Dermadew, Cutinorm or Secalia.
- For very dry feet and hands, use Moisturex which gives best
results if used after soaking feet and followed by wearing of
socks.
Home remedies you can start with for that silky skin that his
hands can’t resist.
- Use a paste of ground green gram powder instead of soap to
get that soft and supple skin.
- Pamper you skin with little coconut oil before bath to heal
dryness and chaps. Use a creamy soap that renders that extra
suppleness to your skin.
- Add a few drops of oil to the water that you are using for
a bath. This will help retain the moisture lost when bathing.
Avoid using very hot water during winter as it can decrease
the natural oils of your skin. Instead shorten your bath time.
- Use scrubs to remove the dry scaly skin. Apply ½ tsp
of Vitamin E oil with 2-3 drops of lime juice and ½ tsp
of glycerin.
- Apply a mixture of 1 tsp warm Olive oil with a few drops
of glycerin and 2-3 drops of lime juice.
- 1 tsp of milk cream with 2-3 drops of lime juice mixed well
should be applied 10 minutes before a bath. It reduces the dryness
and is very good for the in winters.
- Plain whole milk applied and left on for 10 minutes and washed
with cold water helps to get that glow you want on your wedding
day. This should be done twice a day.
